Dean's got at least one foolproof way to feel better when everything's kind of shitty, and that's getting his hands dirty working on cars. And since his baby doesn't really have too much wrong with her right now --

He makes do with second best and heads to Milliways to mess around with as many different kinds of engines as there are planets.

But after a couple hours of that any guy'd be damn hungry, so he heads back up to the main bar, wiping his hands on a rag as he goes.

It's been a long while since Angela went through Limbo to visit the end of the universe. What with one thing and another, there's just always been some reason to not.

But she came in today, partly just to see if it was still there.

It was, go figure.

And it's still got some pretty damn impressive bourbon on offer.

"Lookin' good there, hot stuff."

This is accompanied by a cheesy grin.

Why?

Because he can, and it's been a while.

"You talkin' to me or the bottle of Maker's Mark, sweetie?"

"Well, now that you've gone and mentioned it -- "

He was totally talking to the booze.

Totally.

"Hmmmm," says Angela.

"Guess you're going to need a glass and a seat, then."

[hopeitsworthit]

"Guess so."

Who would ever have guessed that was the truth.

Dean makes himself comfortable.

"Gotta say, sweetheart, you've got good taste."

Just look at who she's hanging out with!

"In all things," Angela says.

"So, how've you been, Dean?"

[hopeitsworthit]

"I'm still alive, right? We're gonna count that as a win."

Sam's alive, too.

That's about all he's asking for at the moment.

Considering.

"You?"

"Staying busy. Drawing a lot. Making plans to spend some time back home again soon. We count that as a win, too.

"Plus I've got good company and a still mostly full bottle.

"What more could a girl ask for?"

"Pie."

Dean sounds pretty sure about that.

Then he cracks a grin.

"You know. If you were gettin' greedy."

". . . point."

Beat.

"You gonna be a gentleman and do something about that?"

[hopeitsworthit]

"Where'd you get the idea I was a gentleman?"

Man, if only Sam could hear this --

"Darlin'," Angela says, Texas accent manifesting in full bloom out of no where, "you're a gentleman if a lady says you are."

And he's not about to tell her she's not a lady, now, is he?

Dean?

Never!

Uh.

"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure no lady's ever said that to me."

Oh, he went th--

"Present company excepted, of course."

"Nice save," she says.

"I'm still waiting on that pie, though . . . "

[hopeitsworthit]

"Hey, don't look at me for that."

She can look to the waitrat he's waved over, though.

You know.

If she wants.

Angela asks the waitrat for pecan pie, with whipped cream, and then looks back to Dean.

"Anything for you, sweetie?"

"A burger. With the works."

What?

Working on cars makes him hungry.

Is there much that doesn't make him hungry?

"Might as well make it two of everything," Angela tells the waitrat.

Because why not?

"And fries. Don't forget the fries."

Dean has never met a fried food he did not like.

Um.

[bringonthewonder]

"And coffee," Angela says, and the waitrat, perhaps sensing that this could go on for a while, nods and beats a hasty retreat back towards the kitchen.

"Let's see . . . that gives us red meat, grease, sugar, booze, and caffeine. I think we're covered."

"Now if we only had doughnuts --"

He's kidding.

Clearly.





Really.

"I can call the rat back . . . "

[hopeitsworthit]

"Nah. I guess I'll deal."

And he probably won't sulk.

"If I have to."

"Aw, poor baby."

Angela is terribly sympathetic.

Really.

"I guess we'll just have to find a way to make it up to you."
